The difference between Brant and Steep
When used as nouns, brant means any of several wild geese, of the genus branta, that breed in the arctic, but especially the brent goose, branta bernicla, whereas steep means the steep side of a mountain etc.
When used as adjectives, brant means steep, precipitous, whereas steep means of a near-vertical gradient.
Steep is also verb with the meaning: to soak an item (or to be soaked) in liquid in order to gradually add or remove components to or from the item.
