The difference between Boil and Cyst

When used as nouns, boil means a localized accumulation of pus in the skin, resulting from infection, whereas cyst means a pouch or sac without opening, usually membranous and containing morbid matter, which develops in one of the natural cavities or in the substance of an organ.


Boil is also verb with the meaning: to heat (a liquid) to the point where it begins to turn into a gas.
