The difference between Beach and Sand
When used as nouns, beach means the shore of a body of water, especially when sandy or pebbly, whereas sand means rock that is ground more finely than gravel, but is not as fine as silt (more formally, see grain sizes chart), forming beaches and deserts and also used in construction.
When used as verbs, beach means to run aground on a beach, whereas sand means to abrade the surface of (something) with sand or sandpaper in order to smooth or clean it.
Sand is also adjective with the meaning: of a light beige colour, like that of typical sand.
