The difference between Barrel and Keg
When used as nouns, barrel means a round vessel or cask, of greater length than breadth, and bulging in the middle, made of staves bound with hoops, and having flat ends or heads. sometimes applied to a similar cylindrical container made of metal, usually called a drum, whereas keg means a round, traditionally wooden container of lesser capacity than a barrel, often used to store beer.
When used as verbs, barrel means to put or to pack in a barrel or barrels, whereas keg means to store in a keg.
