The difference between Banquette and Wall
When used as nouns, banquette means a narrow area behind a defensive wall's parapet elevated above its terreplein and used by defenders to shoot at attackers, whereas wall means a rampart of earth, stones etc. built up for defensive purposes.
Wall is also verb with the meaning: to enclose with a wall.
