The difference between Bank and Tier

When used as nouns, bank means an institution where one can place and borrow money and take care of financial affairs, whereas tier means one who ties (knots, etc).

When used as verbs, bank means to deal with a bank or financial institution, or for an institution to provide financial services to a client, whereas tier means to arrange in layers.
