The difference between Atheist and Monotheist
When used as nouns, atheist means a person who believes that no deities exist , whereas monotheist means a believer in, or advocate of, monotheism.
Atheist is also adjective with the meaning: of or relating to atheists or atheism.

Atheist as a noun (narrowly):
A person who does not believe in deities. A person who believes that no deities exist . A person who rejects belief that any deities exist (whether or not that person believes that deities do not exist). A person who has no belief in any deities, such as a person who has no concept of deities.
