The difference between Assist and Help

When used as nouns, assist means a helpful action or an act of giving, whereas help means action given to provide assistance.

When used as verbs, assist means to stand (at a place) or to (an opinion), whereas help means to provide assistance to (someone or something).


Help is also interjection with the meaning: a cry of distress or an urgent request for assistance.
