The difference between Ambition and Goal

When used as nouns, ambition means eager or inordinate desire for some object that confers distinction, as preferment, honor, superiority, political power, or literary fame, whereas goal means a result that one is attempting to achieve.

When used as verbs, ambition means to seek after ambitiously or eagerly, whereas goal means to score a goal.
