The difference between Acidic and Basic

When used as adjectives, acidic means having a ph less than 7, or being sour, or having the strength to neutralize alkalis, or turning a litmus paper red, whereas basic means necessary, essential for life or some process.


Basic is also noun with the meaning: a necessary commodity, a staple requirement.
