The difference between Ace and Pip

When used as nouns, ace means a single point or spot on a playing card or die, whereas pip means any of various respiratory diseases in birds, especially infectious coryza.

When used as verbs, ace means to pass (a test, interviews etc.) perfectly, whereas pip means to get the better of.


Ace is also adjective with the meaning: excellent.
