The difference between Abrogate and Countermand

When used as verbs, abrogate means to annul by an authoritative act, whereas countermand means to revoke (a former command).


Abrogate is also adjective with the meaning: abrogated.

Countermand is also noun with the meaning: an order to the contrary of a previous one.
